Karin “K” Bliznik (she/they) is a multifaceted trumpet player and producer who has appeared on multi–Grammy Award–winning orchestral albums. She served for a decade as Principal Trumpet of the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra, following positions with the Atlanta, Charlotte, and Charleston symphonies, as well as the Santa Fe Opera. Bliznik has performed with the London Philharmonic, appeared as Guest Principal and soloist with the New York Philharmonic, and recently joined the Los Angeles Philharmonic on its 2025 Asia tour with Gustavo Dudamel.

Recent performance highlights include appearances with Trumpet Mafia, touring with Latin Grammy nominee Gina Chavez on two international LGBTQIA+–focused tours with American Music Abroad, and performing as a soloist with St. Louis artist El Draco’s ten-piece band at Music at the Intersection.

Committed to equity in music, Bliznik founded Tower Grove Records to highlight under-represented voices and recently produced an album of original works for the all-female Seraph Brass. She also mentors young musicians as co-director of Boston University’s Trumpet Seminar at the Tanglewood Institute and serves as Vice President of the Recording Academy’s Memphis Chapter, in addition to serving on the Board of the National Trumpet Competition, which supports nearly 1,000 young players across the United States.
